I released Grim (https://github.com/jeffkreeftmeijer/vim-dim/blob/49c5833997461afbd5c9b06582d23382e40a245f/colors/grim.vim), and vim-nightfall (https://github.com/jeffkreeftmeijer/vim-nightfall) this week, so I’ve officially added both to my Vim configuration for monochrome syntax highlighting in both light and dark mode.

With Twitter now requiring developers to sign up and have their idea reviewed before they get an API token, we’re missing out on some really stupid bots.

Like the “rt for reach”-retweeting bot I wanted to build, which would have been the most fun you can have with recursion. 🤷‍♂️

That’s a map shuttle.

A way to do this would be adding an autocmd that calls out to defaults read -g AppleInterfaceStyle and updates the bg value if needed.

I might wrap that in a plugin if it doesn’t exist yet.

Vim users, what’s your favorite plugin to automatically switch between bg=dark and bg=light based on macOS’s dark mode?

I’m not using MacVim, so I can’t rely on OSAppearanceChanged, sadly.

The bathroom has more cabinet space than we need. That’s convenient, as it allows us to not open the cabinet with the forgotten half set of dentures ever again. 😨

They’re both bad options. I very much just wanted it to be quiet until somebody picked up, so I could do something else. 😔

Calling my ISP, they provide the option to not listen to their waiting music. That sounds helpful, but if you choose it they’ll just keep you listening to a dial tone for fifteen minutes. 🤷‍♂️

We only use one of the bedrooms. One of the other ones is locked, as it’s filled with furniture that’s yet to be moved out. Same goes for the garage in the back yard, which is filled to the brim.

Haha, yes. I’m pretty sure I should be able to pull this off, since I’ve implemented failure counting and exit codes. 🤔

It sure is! My current office isn’t really anti-kraak as such, but it’s “temporary rent”, as the building’s set to be demolished next year to make room for new housing.

For our next housing adventure, we’re anti-squatting a three-bedroom house in a small town just outside the city. We’ll be able to stay here for as long as it doesn’t sell, then we’ll move out.
